Memory and Emergence is a projection video immersive film funded by the National Endowment for the Arts that celebrated the state of New Mexico Centennial. The immersive media experience expressed poetic and photographic reflections on the past 100 years of culture and regional identity in the Indo-Hispano communities of northern New Mexico. This immersive film was directed by Professor Castillo and featured the work of New Mexico State Centennial Poet Levi Romero, photographer and filmmaker Miguel Gandert, and immersive media artist Hue Walker. Memory and Emergence was exhibited in plazas and galleries throughout the state of New Mexico as well as new media and film festivals.
